Richard was born and raised in New York City where he started his restaurant career in 1996 at Canteen Cafe in the Upper East Side. He went on to work at many other great restaurants with his favorites being during his time with Union Square Hospitality Group where he worked alongside amazing chefs and managers. Although the restaurant industry is not for everyone, he has enjoyed his experiences and cherishes the passion he has picked up along the way.
